IMMIGRATING TO NEW ZEALAND

Canstaff is very proactive
in assisting people to immigrate to New Zealand.

Canstaff has travelled extensively through Europe and South Africa over the past 6 years recruiting for a specialised skill set. Canstaff have support networks that can assist with every aspect involved in immigrating
to New Zealand.

You have three main options when looking to immigrate to New Zealand.

1) Waiting to get a job offer before moving to New Zealand is a safe option as you have the security of having a job before you leave your current life behind.  Although in some professions employers will not consider a candidate they cannot meet face to face with.  Canstaff uses video conferencing facilities which some employers are then comfortable in offering a position.

2) Coming over for interviews and then returning to your home country to finalise your move is a good option and has a very high success rate.  This enables employers to meet you and see if there is a personality fit and like wise you can assess if you like the working environment and the people.  This also gives you and your family a chance to look around the area and ensure that this is where you want to settle.

You need to ensure that you can return back to New Zealand within 8 – 12 weeks as an employer cannot hold a job open for any longer.  If you have already sold your house this will not be a problem but if the property market has slowed it may be an issue.  This is when you need to look at the option of renting your house out or selling it early to avoid this problem.

3) Often people just pack up their belongings and move over to New Zealand on a visitors visa.  This is an excellent option and does work for many people, although this is a risk and you must also speak with an immigration consultant to ensure that if you find a job in your chosen profession you will be able to get a work permit and eventually residency.

There are a lot of things to take into consideration, especially selling or renting out your home as this often holds up the employment process.  If you do need to sell your home before coming to New Zealand, do it early.  Although you may have to rent for a short while before coming out, it will be worth it, to ensure that you can move when you had hoped to.

If renting your home out is an option for you, it gives you some security and also it means that you can start you new life without waiting for a sale.

We strongly advise that candidates rent for three to six months, to get used to the areas and ensure that you settle into your new life.

We look forward to assisting you and your family with your recruitment needs.
